Lumbini is the ultimate piligrimages for every Buddhist – The Star of Asia and symbol of peace, Lord Buddha was born at Lumbini while his mother was on her way to parental home from Kapilvastu. Lumbini should be visited and seen by a person of devotion, being one of the four holy places of Buddhism. The other sites are Boudhagaya, Kushinagar and Sarnath in India.
Buddha was born in Lumbini of Nepal during the full moon day in the month of Baisakh in 623 B.C. he was born under a Saal tree (Shorea Robusta) when Maya Devi (his mother) was going to her maternal town on the occasion of delivery. This newly born Hindu Prince named Siddhartha had supernatural birth & signs, which indicated that the new born child will bring deliverance to the world. Ascetic (Rishis) warned the king that the boy might renounce the world anytime if he happen to come across: (1). The diseased, (2). The old man, (3). The dead body & (4). The ascetic. The king, alarmed to hear this, married Prince Siddhartha at an early age and almost imprisoned him in pleasure palaces providing therein all kinds of enjoyments so he will be happy and stay there. However, the prophesy came true and he became The Buddha.
Lumbini is situated in Nepal in the foot hills of Himalayas about 22 kms from Bhairahawa. It is 230 Kms from Kathmandu, 122 kms from Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh, India . 181 Kms from Kushinagar of Uttar Pradesh and 240 kms from Sravasti of Uttar Pradesh of North India.
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival
Arrive in Kathmandu airport where you will be welcomed by the representative from Adventure Bound (P) Ltd who will drive you to the Hotel that you are staying in.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley City Tour
After breakfast you will go for Kathmandu city tour that includes biggest Hindu temple Pashupatinath where the dead bodies are criminated on the bank of Bagmati River, and then you will visit Boudha stupa which is one of the biggest stupa in Asia. You will enjoy the 16th century art and craft at Kathmandu and Patan durbar square then finally visit Swyambhunath temple also named monkey temple, a name given due to massive presence of monkeys. From the top of the temple you can see almost all part of Kathmandu valley. Then the day will finish with a joyful experience.
Day 03: Fly to Lumbini
On the third day of your trip you will fly to Bhairahawa and then drive to Lumbini which is almost an hour drive. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha which is enlisted in world heritage. After check in at the hotel you can roam around Mayadevi temple and many other stupa that the other Buddhist countries have made. You can see the foot step of Lord Buddha and enjoy the Buddhist chanting in the evening.
Day 04:Lumbini tour then fly back to Kathmandu
In the early morning you can go for the sunrise view and fro praying at Mayadevi temple – you can also visit to the peace light flame and other beautiful areas near inside Lumbini Park. Then you can drive to Bhairahawa at late afternoon to catch the flight to Kathmandu.
Day 04:Depart home
On the final day, drive to the airport to catch the international flight. In case if you have late flight you can tour around Kathmandu Durbar square, shopping souvenirs to your friends and family before you fly back to home or use the day as you please!.
