Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Trek

Langtang valley

This is 3rd most popular trekking destination in Nepal after Annapurna & Everest. But its easily accessible and closet area to enjoy with snow –capped Mountain and glacier from Kathmandu.Trekking in this valley takes you truly typical mountain villages with ornately carved wooden windows & skilled weaven tradditon through across the less crowded hiking trails.

The whole valley is dominated by Mt. Langtang Lirung with numerous other snow peaks, Pine forest, waterfalls & galciers ect. Once you enter the core langtang valley from Ghoda tabela, you will find fluttering prayer flags in the main trail, brightly painted chorten and Mani walls. This region is inhabited by mostly Tamang communities whose religious & cultural practices are much more similar to those of Tibetan than to the traditions of their cousins in the middle hills.

Gosaikunda lake

Gosaikunda lake is located in the south of Langtang valley which is considerd holy lake in Nepal. There are also two other big lakes nearby & many more around the area. Every year on full moon night of August, thousands of thousands peoples especially Hindu pilgrimages visit the lake to take bath & change their sacred thread for a year. And so on hundreds of Shamans also visit the lake to pay their homage to Mountain god Shiva. Breathtaking panaromic mountain views and variety of birds will be visible along the way.
