Makalu Trekking is one another outstanding trekking destinations in Nepal situated in the eastern part of Nepal. Mt. Makalu (8463 m) is the fifth highest peaks in the world, protected by Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project established in 1992. The trekking to Makalu region provides remarkable sceneries of the mountains such as Mt. Makalu but also various other mountains such as Mt. Chamlang (7319 m), Mt. Baruntse (7129m) to name a few that are stretching across the area, varieties of flora and fauna, the plants, unique landscapes and cultural blend of various ethnic groups living in the areas.

The trekking to Makalu region is considered to be the low altitude trekking and natural paradise. Makalu Trekking centers mostly at Arun valley so as the route consists of scenic sights of beautiful mountains, pristine forest, and a wide variety of plants, animals and varieties of culture and lifestyles of various ethnic groups living in the areas. Arun valley holds a mighty Arun River and dense forest that is contrasted with the terraced slopes, where you also can see that diverse ethnic groups residing in unity. Similarly, the Makalu-Barun National Park is another attraction in the area, as the conservation area is home to many species, which are on the verge of extinction.

The trekking to Makalu region begins by a short flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and the trekking route heads up to Manebhanjyang, the valleys, where there are the settlements of many ethnic communities. Subsequently, the route passes through the lush forest, valley, reaches at chinchilla and then to Num, Seduwa, Tashingaon, Khongma, Mumbuk and finally reach at Neh Kharka and take a rest for acclimatization, once you are ready with the altitude, the route proceeds to Yak Kharka and then finally reaches at Makalu base camp, making excursion to the areas, the route returns back to Neh Kharka and then to Mumbuk, subsequently to Khogma, Seduwa, and then at Num, Chichilla and Manebhanjyan and finally return back to Tumlingtar and fly back to Kathmandu.
